Is this the first time this officially happens—a game soundtrack featured online through Spotify? I don't know if this is better than a classic format because it consumes additional bandwidth, and, of course, I hope Spotify ads don't appear; if they do, I'll mute it

On the other hand, it is better than the classics (Battlefield: Vietnam, Fallout, Bad Company 2, Vietcong...) because this playlist can change and be updated so you don't get bored of hearing the same tracks over and over again. It looks like, despite being streaming music, all the '60s tracks featured on the list are non-copyrighted or lightly copyrighted, along with some very underground tunes. This is great both for streamers and for the DJ (who has good taste). I hope the playlist stays like this. I don't know what will happen with this "streaming OST" concept over the years—whether the game will eventually lose the music or not. I've experienced this format before in two games: Arma Reforger (Vietnam) and Fallout Online. In Fallout Online, I muted the radio because it had ads unrelated to the game, and in Arma Reforger, it was underground—meaning all the players were playing music through their mics. That was very fun until someone played non-period-accurate 'Nam music, at which point you'd prefer a classic format

👄👄👄 bonus - if grateful dead would done it

This HLL: VN solution is a middle ground between classic radio OSTs in games and the modern online concept, which is interesting. I won't hop back into the game until at least November, when APCs and Khe Sanh are finally added. Until then, the game feels 100% like a beta, so I'll wait for the full experience. This playlist will be updated, but the official album I compiled consists of the 7 tracks currently on the list (Sept 2026) plus another 6 bonus tracks of my own, featuring the missing Creedence Clearwater Revival (because of copyright, I guess) and some other underground tunes. I didn't want to add too many bonus tracks because, you know... I could add my entire 2 TB of '60s and '70s heavy psych, and I don't want to lose my mind again!

You can also check out our channel and Archive.org for other Hell Let Loose: Vietnam compilations we made back during the hype in 2025, including the real game minimal score I gameripped in June: Hell Let Loose Vietnam Score OST (from beta), Hell Let Loose San Francisco, Hell Let Loose Wisconsin, and the Hell Let Loose soundtrack (the 2025 leak that ultimately didn't pan out)
