Buzzard
Riding high on burnished wings
And with a brazen eye
The buzzard waits to take its pick
Waiting on that helpless cry
In the time it takes
The moment that you're right off guard
Bridges that you thought you'd crossed
Got to cross 'em all again
Just as lightning strikes
Before the thunder
The buzzard falls upon its prey
But the meek will stand
Understanding nature
Seeing far beyond the plan
Take their place in time
Take their place in timeless structure
Out, out of the dark surrounding shadows
Tearing apart – trying to get to me
Sometimes you'll see, sometimes you'll feel
Colder than steel, instantly real
Burn, burning with fire, from the depths of time
Enter my space to take my grace from me
Slither and slide, ready to hide
Far down inside – waiting with pride

Silver Tightrope
I close my eyes to worldly skies
I leave behind the day
And deep within me, I shall begin
To chase my thoughts away
As loved ones hold me to their sides
Their strength flows into me
To cast me out of sorrow's blindness
Into eternity
I thought I heard them softly calling
The voices of the spheres
Away from waking fears
I reach out, try to touch the passing
Of beings bathed in light
But they just smile, their eyes not asking
To see beyond their sight
Ooh silver tightrope
Ooh silver tightrope
Ooh silver tightrope
I thought I saw the candle-bearers
On their way to the beyond
Beckon to me from the future
To come and join the throng
I stepped upon the silver tightrope
Balancing beliefs
And wings unfurling with a new hope
I left behind my griefs
Ooh silver tightrope
Ooh silver tightrope
Ooh silver tightrope
Ooh silver tightrope
Ooh silver tightrope
Ooh silver tightrope
Ooh silver tightrope
Ooh silver tightrope
Ooh silver tightrope
Ooh silver tightrope
Ooh silver tightrope
Ooh silver tightrope

Paths And Planes And Future Gains
Silver trumpets call
Herald shining armour
Armour so bright
That the blind will fall
Standing face to face
Eye to eye with no one
Falling sometimes
Never letting go
And the awesome foe
Waits in darkened corners
Fearing all light
Fearing sacred sight
Shining chariots
Bearing sacred souls
Ride the surface
Of the deepest holes
Calling on my forces
Witnessing the source
Stand and face the moment
Waiting on its course
Standing on the mountain
Valley all in cloud
See another mountain
Calling from the shroud
Paths that wander nowhere
Wasting precious time
Witnessing the forces
Calling on the source
Reaching out for something
Knowing that it's there
I face the precious moments
Holding if I dare
Standing on the mountain
Valley all in cloud
See another mountain
Calling from the shroud

Last Stand Before
Jumping Jack flash in the pan
Took a look and ran
Wanna buy tomorrow
Gonna leave it locked in the can
Lucy's out falling about
Trying to find her man
Sold her rings, all her things
Sell herself if she can
I know she will
Henry's eyes tell no lies
Thinks he's got it made
Super cool, he's no fool
Nothing makes him afraid
But the darkness
On the phone no one's home
Always out on the town
On the streets, dragging their feet
I've gotta find a place to lay down
From the night-time
Lost a friend
Met his end way before his time
Tried it once, tried it twice
Didn't notice the signs
Rock and roll, moving your soul
Took a few as well
On the line, out of time
Shooting stars that all fell
Oh Lord, do something, gotta slow it down
It's coming on too fast, can't take it
Feel like I'm gonna drown
Gonna stand and face it, but I need you near
Through the darkest hours, I'm calling
Sometimes I think you don't hear me calling
Hear me calling
My brother's falling, I'll catch him if I can
My brother's falling, I'll catch him if I can
My brother's falling, I'll catch him if I can
I see him falling, join him in his last stand
All the questions and all the lies
Will soon be answered to your surprise
All the doubting and all the tears
Will fall to ashes across the years

Basking In The White Of The Midnight Sun
a) Warning Comin' On
(instrumental)
b) Basking in the White of the Midnight Sun
Sitting on a lonesome beach
Holding shadow in one hand
Of a lovely flame I once called mine
On a patch of blazing white sand
Oh, princess, do you have to be so bold
I've read those signs that line your road before
But it's too bad you had to go away
Gone tomorrow, but I see you today
But it's too bad you had to go away
Like the sorrow of a one act play
It was years before on that sultry day
The wind was warm for months and days
But you'll be here on the hot summer nights
And you'll be here on the cold winter nights
And we won't worry what's wrong or right
Basking in the white of the midnight sun
Oh, darling, darling, don't you fly too soon
My love's burning red like the summer skies in June
And space and time speak the only truths
And legends tell the story of the past
But paste pictures took her final toll
But as they say, all things gonna pass
It's too bad you had to go away
Gone tomorrow, but I'll see you today
It's too bad you had to go away
Like the sorrow of a one act play
Like the sorrow of a one act play
But you'll be here on hot summer nights
But you'll be here on the cold winter nights
And we won't worry what's wrong or right
Basking in the white of the midnight sun
Basking in the white of the midnight sun
c) Brother Ego
Brother Ego like a moth 'round a flame
Burn your wings yet again and feel the pain
On a fool's trip take a turn to the left
Scream and shout, fall about, but leave it out
How I long for you to warm yourself
On my soul, in my heart it hurts apart
But instead I'm in trouble again
You're outside right beside me, standing in the cold
Brother Ego, running round in circles
Why don't you come on home that's shining on
Shining on forever more
d) Basking in the White of the Midnight Sun (Reprise)
Your passing by just beyond my reach
Has left me here without the power of speech
And leaning on the only form I know
I wonder if I should stay or go
But going is a thing I couldn't face
I've got to spend my time upon this place
It's too bad I've got to be alone
The feelings will surely be outgrown
It's too bad I've got to be alone
The seed's there, I know it has been sown
I remember when you held me to your soul
I thought that I had reached my final goal
But you'll be here in my thoughts and in my heart
No distance will keep us apart
And we won't worry what's wrong or right
Basking in the white of the midnight
Basking in the white of the midnight
Basking in the white of the midnight sun
Basking in the white of the midnight
Basking in the white of the midnight
Basking in the white of the midnight sun
