This series were sold in Spain as a companion to a rock encyclopedia in the early 80s - one fascicle every week, for almost 2 years. The encyclopedia has 6 volumes. For this reason please avoid using release dates referred to initial publishing or copyright dates, that may appear on the release

Por una época no me gustaban estos recopilatorios peor con el tiempo acabé queriendolos mucho, lo peor que tienen es que las portadas pueden resultar algo cutres (aunque a día de hoy me parecen cojonudas) y que la mayoría de veces hacían los recopilatorios a lo loco, en plan cogían directamente un LP y la cambiaban la portada, o un recopilatorio de Polydor, y muchas veces eran albunes que no era precisamente representativos de la etapa más popular del artista.. peor bueno, es gracioso, muy español y.. LO BUENO es que aparte de venir con revistas muy buenas (las cuales lamentablemente no tengo digitalizadas) es que usaban aún en esa época masteres analogicos, lo cual hace que estos discos suelen como los originales y no como las re-ediciones de discos que sacan ahora. Tambien tenian y tienen de bueno que cumplen el mismo papel que cumplían en la época, osea vas a una tienda de discos y te los venden a euro o dos por uno, o te llevas 7 por diez y cosas así.. en la epoca era así pero en los kioskos y era una buena manera de pillar discos más baratos o si te gustaba por ejemplo Santana pero no lo suficiente como para gastarte la paga en LPs suyos, pues con u recopilatorio de estos tenías muy bueos temas de Santana por unas cuentas pesetas. Otra pega que tienen es que algunos que en la España ácida de Franco estaban censurados con pitidos en algunas partes.. tambien lo están aquí.. no se molestaron ni en quitarlo

Son recopilatorios que debido a su caracter enciclopédico llegaron evidentemente posteriores a la época (excepto algunos que por tal de coger lo ultimo del artista..), pero es interesante ver como el concepto de rock clasico implosiono en España. Recopilatorios así en USA no se vieron que yo sepa, tan buenos, que viensen con sus revistas y tal.. ni siquiera la Easy Rider gen. in concert venía con revistas. En el numero de los Beatles si se tomaron la molestia de buscar una edición especial. De Fleedwood Mac han puesto la foto de los modernos peor las canciones primeras, creo que es el peor de todos
