Analysis of Starship Troopers Extermination: lack of faces and Sweet Baby INC..

With the final release of *Starship Troopers: Extermination*, fans of both the franchise and gaming are left with mixed feelings about the overall execution of the game. While it offers a cooperative shooter experience set in the beloved sci-fi universe, there are several critical aspects that detract from its potential. One glaring oversight is the design of the helmets. The game's characters don what can only be described as atrocious motorcycle racing helmets rather than the iconic military helmets fans remember from the films. This departure from the original design feels like a missed opportunity to pay homage to the source material and immerse players in the universe they cherish.

Soundtrack by its side is really good but
isnt make sense, is more for a Conan game
than for Starship Troopers

Moreover, the arcade-like gameplay detracts from the strategic elements that could have been prominent in a game set within the Starship Troopers universe. The focus seems to be on fast-paced action rather than a deep, engaging experience, leaving many players craving a more substantial gameplay structure.

SQUAD TROOPERS mod, the good one

The absence of basic features, such as flying bugs is also a significant omission. In a game that leans heavily on its action and combat mechanics, having a wider variety of enemies would not only enhance gameplay diversity but also align more closely with the franchise's lore. Furthermore, there are concerns regarding the game’s approach to character customization and representation. The inability to change the gender of your character, along with the overwhelming presence of female soldiers—who often contribute to a high-pitched audio backdrop—raises suspicions about the ideology being propagated by Sweet Baby INC. This direction may alienate fans who have come to expect a more balanced representation. Additionally, the decision to avoid showing faces to prevent potential identity conflicts feels overly cautious and might hinder player connection with their avatars.

It’s disheartening to see players flocking to Extermination when modded experiences, such as the SQUAD TROOPERS mod for Squad, offer a superior gameplay experience across the board and are struggling to maintain their player base. The disparity between these two experiences highlights a broader issue within the gaming industry, where nostalgia and franchise loyalty can sometimes overshadow the quality and substance of the actual product. Extermination falls short in several critical areas, from design and gameplay to representation. While it may attract some attention due to its title, fans of the franchise and gamers alike deserve better than what has been delivered

related to the women in classic military sci-fi, i did a post in 2019 about that but sumarized its something that Starship Troopers film did, a CRITIZE about women inclusion in western military armies, something that didnt happen until 2016 (except spain 1994), and the film tried to represent that future and the problems associated with that, in the original book women were only reserved as certain roles, as pilots. Anyway this film among Aliens 1986 in their critizing ended beign more like an apology of that, then almost all sci-fi series include women in military in a western way (not segregated)
