Este album inaudito ha salido a la luz hace poco despues de 58 años se han encontrado las grabaciones! me ha costado mucho conseguirlo lo he ripeado de spotify con un SUBWOOFER que tiene mi PC, se oye un poco raro y colorizado pero mola mucho. ES CRIMINAL que esta joya no haya salido a la luz hasta ahora.. Flower Power se formó en octubre de 1967. La banda estaba integrada por Craig Ferguson, guitarrista y vocalista principal de The Soule Survivors; Robert Weathersby, guitarrista; Gregg Giuffria, organista de The Telstars; David Mcintosh y Sandi Craig, de Sandi and the Gang Band; y Joe Rolison, de The Varments, al bajo. Tenían entre 15 y 17 años. Tocaban en locales de la costa del Golfo de Mississippi. Poco después, conocieron a Tom y Paul Krimsier en Nueva Orleans, buscando conciertos en el estacionamiento de la emisora de radio W.N.O.E. (Nueva Orleans, Luisiana). Se convirtieron en sus managers. El suegro de Tom, Joe Banashak, era dueño de Tune-Kel Records, y firmaron un contrato con ellos a principios de 1968. El primer sencillo, «Bye Bye Baby», se grabó en Cosimo Recording Studio, en Nueva Orleans. La formación era la original. David Mcintosh dejó la banda y fue reemplazado por Johnny. Rand de The Soul Survivors. Robert Weathersby también se fue y fue reemplazado por Randall Currie, también exmiembro de The Soul Survivors. Los dos siguientes discos fueron con esta formación. Hicieron muchos conciertos como teloneros con la gerencia de Krissier, acompañando a B.J. Thomas. También tocaron con Jimi Hendrix, Sly and the Family Stone y muchos otros. 'Mt Olympus' se grabó con esta formación
Randall Currie dejó el grupo en agosto de 1968 y fue reemplazado por James T. Tierce de The Substantial Evidence, quienes tenían un sencillo llamado 'Death Angel' y eran populares en la región. Johnny Rand dejó la banda y fue reemplazado por Dickie Burnet en la batería a principios de 1969. Ted Tierce se fue después de 5 meses y decidieron seguir siendo un quinteto. En julio de 1969 fueron a Houston, Texas, para abrir el concierto de The Nazz, la banda de Todd Rundgren. El domingo 31 de agosto... Fueron teloneros del primer Festival Pop de Nueva Orleans, un evento de dos días con Janis Joplin, Santana y The Grateful Dead, entre muchos otros. Grabaron mucho material en Houston, Texas; nada se publicó y las canciones nunca se mezclaron, pero sí se hicieron algunas pruebas de prensado en vinilo... El movimiento Flower Power continuó en 1970.. y tocaron en el segundo Festival Pop de Atlanta, en Georgia, ese mismo julio. Este fue el último concierto que dieron juntos

The Flower Power were formed in Gulfport, MS, in October 1967 by Craig Ferguson, guitar and lead vocal (formerly of The Soule Survivors), Robert Weathersby, guitar and Gregg Giuffria, organ (both from The Telstars), David Mcintosh and Sandi Craig (from Sandi and the Gang Band) and Joe Rolison from The Varments on bass. They were still in their teens aged between 15 to 17 years old
They gigged in local clubs and bars up and down the Gulf Coast and, by good fortune, met their future managers Tom and Paul Krimsier in a radio station car park in New Orleans. Tom’s father-in-law was none other than Joe Banashak, a prominent producer and record label owner. He signed them to his Tune-Kel imprint in early 1968 and they cut their first single, ‘Bye Bye Baby’, at the famed Cosimo Recording Studios. With the Krimsier Management on board the band moved up a gear backing the likes of B.J. Thomas, Jimi Hendrix, Sly and the Family Stone, The Nazz, Todd Rundgren and many others. On Sunday, August 31st The Flower Power were the opening act at the first New Orleans Pop Festival, a two day event with Janis Joplin, Santana and The Grateful Dead. They continued to record for Banashak and released five singles on Tune-Kel, all highly collectable today. They also laid down some material in Houston, Texas, unreleased until now!
