this is not the uncirculated 1969 demo EP never released this is a 1981 EP COMP; Towards the end of 1969, they still using the name Hawkwind Zoo (before the change to Hawkwind) and with Mick Slattery as the lead guitarist, the band was given studio time by Don Paul to record some demos. "Hurry On Sundown" was one of the tracks recorded, this version is more electric and psychedelic than the acoustic folky feel of the later debut album version. This recording appears to be released in 1981 as the first of a host of archive material issued through Flicknife Records. Another previously unheard track recorded at the same session, "Sweet Mistress of Pain" (also known as "Kiss of the Velvet Whip"), is included on the B-side, it was also included with an alternate instrumental version of "Kings of Speed" both featured in a 1975 single. Killer version of Hurry On Sundown!
A1 Hurry On Sundown (1969 edit) 00:00
B1 Sweet Mistress of Pain AKA "Kiss of the Velvet Whip'' (1969 edit) 06:48
B2 Kings of Speed (1974 live outtake) 12:04
missing, from 1969 ''Cymbaline'' pink floyd cover, ''bring it on home'' and its 1966 live version featured on Weird Tapes; the 1996 deluxe edition of the first LP includes 1969 bonuses but they're kind of different takes, this EP is unique, maybe its the original 1969 demo for the press
Kings of Speed is also featured on my Virginia records +Heavy- in better quality, this 192 upload has some vinyl needle jumps
